“Concrete Quicksand”
The world is still.
It feels hazy from a pill.
Your mood isn’t the same.
On others you place the blame.
Your heart felt like you didn’t care.
In blank spaces you’d just stare.
Stare off into the unknown
Into a world that’s never shown.
Life was made up of your fears and dreams.
You’d questions and realize nothing’s what it seems.
Blessed with a big heart, that often got broken.
To some you were nothing but a token.
The hundreds of poems you used to write.
Hopefully, they’ll make one’s day a little more bright.
You were always reaching for someone’s hand.
I’m sorry you were trapped in concrete quicksand.

We want to thank all the businesses that took part in our online magazine. Your continued support is very important to Cathy G Charities and we greatly appreciate it.

“Extreme”
If I die with a broken heart
Would you wish there was a new start?
Wish we were never apart
Maybe death is the only way
To make you see
Understand who I wanted to be
What I wanted and so needed
You to do
Now would be too late
It would be your fate
Having to live with a broken heart.

Cathy & her dad, Gary.
“Closure”
Thank you for setting me free
Because now I’m really me
I found myself
I am wealth
I am strength
At any length
Worst pressure of all
Was that you let me fall
Weren’t there picking me up
Holding me steady
You let go
I’m going to live my destiny
Really see the rest of me
The person I’ve become,
Without you.

“Come Back”
~ Still waiting
The time we
Knew grew
Either are few
Far and in between
That’s what it seemed
Now apart
No new start
There isn’t a fresh beginning
Only separate living
Going different ways
Love still stays
Leaving an open womb
Take this memory from this room
These words lift on these walls
Throughout the house
I am no longer your spouse
Old live in situation
Go where you want
You know where I stand
Remember none of this was planned
I want us back
Please unpack

“Image”
Watching the flowers in the wind
As the petals cry
Hearing the birds
Asking why?
The sun mirrors down below
Weight beats slow
Allured by breeze
Tickling the trees
Lasting bright
The beautiful images
Of sight.

Cathy & Easha
“Given”
Lingered love on the line
Selfishly wanting it all to be mine
As sweet as honey
Presenting self so kindly
The one that’s meaningful
And so absolutely irresistible
Quench a sought after thirst
Purified of what was cursed
When what’s given
Is more than enough
Unconditional support when
Times are rough
Emotions falling and rising
To meet once again
For me dear love,
You are my all true man.

A Note of Love About Cathy
Cathy’s creative and humanitarian spirit continues through time from her poetry, lyrics and other talents which chronicles her life experiences while living at her temporary home on earth. As a singer, poet, songwriter etc…, Cathy’s words had an unmistakable stamp of relentless passion, raw honesty and vulnerability which affected many through their struggles in life. Her admirers could relate with her inner reflections of exploring heartfelt human experiences through her poetry books and music verses while the proceeds of these fund raisers continue her mission to help the less fortunate through her charity. I salute her selfless altruistic and imaginative legacy to the creative arts and people everywhere which drew me into her charity as a volunteer.
